The Only F's We Want You To Make While You Are In College

Family Groups

“Family group” is a term you’re going to hear often at the BCM. It’s something that we’re very excited about, and we hope you’ll get excited about it, too.  Family Groups meet at different times during the week so everyone can find a time that fits their schedule. Sometimes the meeting will be an informal Bible study; sometimes it will be a fun group activity, like laser tag, bowling, a Memphis tour or Christmas party; and sometimes, it’ll be a group mission project. Every family group will have two primary leaders - a mom and a dad. These student leaders will be there to guide Bible studies, organize plans, and encourage you in your faith.

If you’d like to get into a family group, please click here to fill out information and find out more. Someone will be in touch with you soon to help you be in a family.

UofM-free-food-friday

Free Food Friday

Join approximately 200 students every FRIDAY at 12 noon during the semester, as local churches provide a FREE home cooked meal for YOU!

Each week we have a brief devotion and a great time together. Invite your friends and enjoy great food and great times. Everybody needs to eat.

UofM-focus-worship

Focus Worship

Every THURSDAY NIGHT at 8pm during the fall and spring semesters, we have a gathering of students for a college worship service.  Our student-led band leads out in quality, stirring worship, and we have videos, life stories from students, panel discussions, table games and different speakers from the community who teach the Bible and share from life experiences. Afterward, we might head over to a local church for food and activities such as basketball, volleyball, and more. Join us each week as we go deeper in our faith.

UofM-fresh

Fresh

Fresh is our student-led “chapel” on Tuesdays at 11:15 am. Come in for a break from your busy schedule to recharge your spirit through singing, discussions, Bible study, testimonies and more. Different students will lead this time each morning, so come and see how God is working in the lives of college students. Come and be re-Freshed.

Missions

UofM-missions-1Our “On-Going Mission” is to make sure college students are “Going-On Missions” You’ll find that MISSIONS are at the core of what the BCM values. “Christians on the side of Heaven owe the Gospel to people who are without Christ on this side of Hell.” (David Platt, from the book Radical). We implement our beliefs by encouraging students to invest their lives for the sake of the Gospel and go to the world. Part of that encouragement comes from providing opportunities to participate in “SOLE TRIPS.” These short term experiences transform both the “participants” and the “recipients.”

UofM-missions-2A typical school year consists of the following SOLE trip opportunities:

  • Fall Break - New York Mission experience working with children in the Bronx and Brooklyn
  • Winter Break - New Orleans Mission experience serving a church in facility care and community outreach.
Mexico Missions experience doing light construction, SOLE-TRIPS-LOGOministry to needy and children’s ministry.
  • Spring Break - Multiple Mission trips both locally and internationally. Many of these trips involve either servant based outreach, personal evangelism, relational evangelism, and children’s ministry. Listed below are some previous mission trips we’ve been on for Spring break:
  • Panama City Beach, Florida – Beach Reach
  • Missoula, Montana
  • Portland, Maine
  • Guatemala serving the Pokomchi people
  • Istanbul, Turkey

If you are interested in serving on one of mission trips, contact us and we will send you an application when we have our trips lined out for the year.UofM-ligjht-messengers

  • Summer Missions - Check out www.lightmessengers.org. We partner with the
State BCM office to send students all over the world during the summer.
Our motto is, “You can work the rest of your life, why not serve this summer!”
